Unfortunatly I had an accident with my Triumph recently with bent forks as result.
Well, what happened?
The last modification on the bike was the replacement of the front wheel bearings.
This modification is very successfull but after 100 miles I met the surface of the road very hard.
A close inspection learned that the brake anchor plate lock nut was missing and when I wanted to slow down speed
the brake anchor plate started to turn till the point where the plate hit the fork and the front wheel blocked.
With disastrous result, and all in front of my house!
Luckily it all happened at low speed, only 20 mph, so I was only slightly injuired.
First I was afraid that the damage was beyond repair and I had to look for a replacement.
A friend advised me to contact a frame repair company a few villages away from my hometown.
He managed to repair the fork in just one week for a fair price.
I don't know how he did it but it but the result is perfect without loss of strength.
The fork is fully tested now and still in good shape.
For all who need a frame or fork repair I can recommend this company, Van der Wouden Techniek, see link page.
