Been out on the Triumph last weekend.
Did 45 miles and topped at 57 mph!!
I have been on the road with al classic bike for the first time this year!
Very unusual for me, mostly this time a year I have made many miles already.
A week before the rally I touched the bike for the first time, turned on the petrol tap,
ingnition slightly retarded and with the choke I fitted last year the bike fired at the second kick!
Even the battery wasn't flat so lights were in working order.
Unfortunatly, due to work, I was not able to go on Saturday morning, so I missed the Saturday trip.
I went in the afternoon to Harskamp, a very nice ride, nice small road avoiding bussy traffic.
60 Miles and to hours time, a nice average for the little Triumph.
With my arrival at quarter past five I had enough time to put on my tent and prepare for the BBQ.
On Sunday morning we went out for some rough off road riding.
My Triumph was the only solo machine among all the Zundapps and BMW's wehrmachts machines.
There was only one other Brittish machine; Lex his Big4.
I want to encourage more owners of military machines to visit this great event,
to use your bike were it was made for: riding, and don't be afraid af mud.
After all the fun we went back to Harskamp to have a good lunch.
And prepare for the ride home.
In 2 hours home again,
I hope to see more military (Brittish) bikes next year!
